"Bring Me an Asp!" Mubarek did not say. Meanwhile . . .
if he were allowed to remain in office for 9 more months, even if he did plan to leave, I'd expect he'd be busy neutralizing opponents, enriching himself, and handing out favors to people who might help him or his son later.

3. That's his M/O according to some.
He would have enough time to perhaps set his son up as candidate and winner with the same tactics that have worked for him for thirty years. No, he needs to go now and an interim President not related to him be named to govern until they can hold elections.
