The Progressive: Who does Hillary Clinton think she's fooling with this crap on Egypt?

Who’s Hillary Clinton Kidding on Egypt?
By Matthew Rothschild
Editor of The Progressive
January 31, 2011

.... Clinton told a whopper on Sunday. “We are on the side” of the Egyptian people, “as we have been for more than 30 years,” she told Candy Crowley of CNN.

Who does Clinton think she’s fooling with this crap?

Was the United States on the side of the Egyptian people as Mubarak’s security forces engaged in rampant and hideous torture?

Was the United States on the side of the Egyptian people as Mubarak rigged one election after another?

At times like this, such bald-faced lies don’t fool anyone, especially not the Egyptian people.

1. Is that person involved in the diplomacy going on right now?
No, probably not. Easy to write inflammatory rhetoric. It doesn't take skill, only an agenda.

2. I'm cutting HRC some slack. She only reads from the script given to her by the WH.
Or if she drafts it, it has to be approved by the WH.

We know by way of Wikileaks that if the "truth" were put on record, we would unlikely have diplomatic relations with more than three countries.

14. That's what they said in defense of Colin Powell's lies to the U.N.
My answer: One shouldn't work for an outfit that requires that you tell destructive lies to your Countrymen. Resign.

10. Perhaps she misspoke and meant to say:

"We are on the side of Mubarak as we have been for more than 30 years."

That would be accurate.

12. There aren't two rational sides to this.
Our government hasn't been on the side of the Egyptian people for 30 years. That's simply false.

13. I heard her spouting that crap on TV. She is the same Hillary that
voted to allow Bush to invade Iraq. Every word out of her mouth is crafted by her opinion of the current political situation as it relates to her best interests. But, she sure as Hell isn't alone.
Most of our politicians are like that.
