24. No he isn't.
The US Supreme W. Court gave us the chimp. They stopped the vote counting and appointed him.

29. If Nader had not been in the race in FL there would have been no reason to recount anything.
Nader may not have given us Bush, but he did absolutely nothing to prevent his presidency.

32. Nader had the right to run.
Gore won Florida. The election was a fraud.

May as well blame Clinton or Lieberman while you're at it. They screwed up Gore's chance at the
presidency. Gore himself blew it by distancing himself from Bill Clinton, but in the end, he won anyway.

The problem was the completely fucked decision by the corrupt supremes. They subverted the election process by declaring that the votes can't be counted because it might harm the chimp. (Huh?)

I voted for Nader, though I was in a safe state (CA). I wanted the Green Party to have some support.

5. DK
I think redistricting will make it difficult for him to be re-elected from what I see. Suing for 150,000 over an olive pit doesn't really help him I think.

11. I fractured my upper jaw.
Difficult thing to do. Nowhere near 150,000 to fix. It killed a few living teeth. I think the lawsuit just looks so bad. If he runs; it will be on the radar. I was incredulous when I read about his lawsuit. If that doesn't help tort reform........

17. And are you okay? Plus, I think we'd know if he'd had a fractured upper jaw,
I'm guessing it's pretty obvious?

You're right - that's exactly the kind of lawsuit that needs to be addressed (although to be fair we don't know the details, but just the same...). I'm relieved he wasn't asking for a million!

16. Someone here presented a plausible scenario that maybe the insurance companies
were fighting about it and he just got fed up. I read somewhere where it resulted in permanent damage, so maybe that's what he's trying to get compensation for.

My initial response was just knock it off, Dennis -- Get compensation for your dental work and be done with it. It surely wasn't intentional and it's not as though it was the tip of somebody's finger or something. :eyes:

There are no details about the specifics, but even so -- it's just kind of strange as you say.

23. Methinks
there is speculation to justify with no facts. On the face of things, biting into a pit in an olive could never cause permanent damage to the tune of 150,000. Had dental work done? It ain't cheap, but good golly, you can get a whole hell of a lot of work done for that. I can get facial reconstruction for that. I don't think his teeth were ever that good - and yes I just seemed to be struck by that some time ago - so I don't see the point in making himself a laughing stock. His office response was questionable too. sigh.

27. The only one of those I've even heard of is
Lyndon LaRouche. Are any of the others even Democrats? If they are, they're so obscure that maybe they'll get their names on the ballots in a couple of primaries, but won't have a meaningful campaign.

Barring something totally weird happening before the end of this year, Obama simply isn't going to have any meaningful opposition for the nomination. In fact, I'll go out on a limb and say because Obama will have no challeger in 2012, there will be no primaries or caucuses on the Democratic side.
