Boehner’s Critique Of SOTU Proves He Didn’t Hear It
House Speaker John Boehner railed against President Obama on Parker-Spitzer for not saying America is exceptional enough during his State of the Union Address.

BOEHNER: Well, they — they’ve refused to talk about America exceptionalism. We are different than the rest of the world. Why? Because Americans have — the country was built on an idea that ordinary people could decide what their government looked like and ordinary people could elect their own leaders.

Perhaps Boehner was dozing during the speech that focused exactly on American exceptionalism. It’s been a conservative meme of late that liberals don’t think America is exceptional. Beohner most have missed the part where Obama referred him as the Speaker of “the greatest nation on earth.”

2. Could be one of two things. He's going deaf or he doesn't
understand the meaning of words.."the greatest nation on earth" means exceptional.

3. what is it with this 'exceptionalism" stuff?
are we, as a nation, not mature enough yet that we have to keep reassuring ourselves how great we are??
Why is that a problem if Obama or anyone else in the public eye does not constantly rah rah American exceptionalism?
I do not understand that at all..... it seems so childish and silly
Okay, we're a great nation! Now move on

14. Boehner's words are actually about American 'Ordinariness'
Hello - he is mumbling along about 'ordinary people' making 'ordinary decisions.'

What's he whining about so-called exceptionalism, when he's really talking about ordinaryism...

Republicons - it'd be comical if it didn't involve real life...

4. it was a brilliant speech...
It spoke to all of the phony GOTP "concerns" while showing exactly what we needed to do to make our country strong again.

The GOTP don't want to actually do that, they just want to whip their constituency up to an evil froth with the words.

Basically, Obama said, yep, you're right... and here's how it works.

When The Weepy Orange Boner and others cry in their beer about not hearing what they wanted to hear, it's very telling. The words were spoken, just not heard.

8. Of course he didn't.
Every time the camera panned to Himself, he was nodding off, barely able to stay awake. I'm pretty sure he was loaded.

11. He looked very bored and disinterested
I imagined him thinking about how soon he could hit the bar. I'm sure he was fighting the urge to look at his watch. Can't even fake leadership for one hour on national television. He is going to be a very entertaining Speaker of the House.

12. Obama handed Boehner a copy of the speech just before the speech was spoked.
Apparently he didn't read it either.

13. Actually it just proves he didn't care what the SOTU said...
...as long as he can plow along with whatever talking points he wants.

Republicans have been critiquing speeches Democrats didn't actually make for a long time now.
