10 more days until Reaganpalooza!!
Get ready . . .

. . . cuz it's a-comin!

"'scuse me, she might get 'rug burn' . . ."

Preview of the 2012 RNC.

"Will this be enough to buy Donald Regan?"

Fond Memories.

Faux's Wet Dream. Their "Reagasm", if you will.

Bedtime for Democracy, indeed.

"Now watch this drive" . . . the Prequel?

4. I cringe at what may come out of the White House for this.
Reegan was an enemy of the people. He deserves to have his name erased, but then we'd be erasing so many names.

8. It's literally amazing what lengths our nation goes to in the quest to deify this old fool.
The USA should be more ashamed than anything. For eight years, we had an early-stage Alzheimers sufferer in the highest office and corporate snakes quietly assumed control under his and Bewsh's rule. Our nation (especially our workers) not only has yet to recuperate the wage/prosperity gains lost some 30 years back, but continually props up the worst of the economic and foreign policies of that administration as if they were successful.

Then again, it all depends on who they were successful FOR, doesn't it?

I see that happen every day here for Obama when he is following some of the exact same policies Raygun enacted.

I think he will be the first to prostrate himself before Reagan's divine image.

11. Make a note of all that will be said/shown/broadcast, and how much time devoted
...and save it.

Then compare it to how much time and what's said about JFK during his centennial, just 6 years from now.

when I am quite glad I live in the UK.

The Thatcherpalooza won't be till 2025, though I'm not looking forward to the huge Tory electioneering event, sorry I mean state funeral, whenever she finally pops her clogs.

25. Gee, I thought that this post was about Obama or aka Reagan III
Edited on Thu Jan-27-11 01:06 PM by Beacool
Did anybody see the cover of next week's Time magazine?

"Ronald Reagan changed the trajectory of America in a way that Richard Nixon did not and in a way that Bill Clinton did not. He put us on a fundamentally different path because the country was ready for it," Obama said then. "He just tapped into what people were already feeling, which was, we want clarity, we want optimism, we want a return to that sense of dynamism and entrepreneurship that had been missing." Obama, 2008

He should be on the back of the dime, all right.

In every way, an outstanding post, yours, HughBeaumont.
