You know what I am going to do tomorrow?
I am going to go outside and build a snowman! He will have beer bottle eyes and a carrot nose. Haven't decided what will be the mouth yet...but that will come.

I am going to forget about all the breaking news, all the silly interpretations that are fed to us as to what we should be worried about.

One letter to my Senator won't change anything, one response on a blog only voices my opinion; nothing else. One vote on some poll hardly matters.

For one single day, I am not going to watch or read the "news". I am not going to turn on the PC. I am going to go back to that carefree kid in me...for just a day.

I need to. If I can get my camera to work, I'll post a pic of my work. :)

See ya all Friday.

1. I hope you DO post a picture!
I want to see your snowman.

We have good "packing" snow right now, and a contest for the best snow sculpture coming up. I could always use your entry, but I guess that wouldn't be fair, now would it?

7. My snowman won't be contest worthy...
I'm nearing 60. Whatever I end up with won't be very news worthy. (sorry) But; a couple winters ago, I headed outside and helped the neigborhood kids build a snowman. They loved it, and so did I.

It made me feel good, dare I say a bit younger. There's something about acting like a kid that frees a person. It's like going back home, if only for a little while.

9. Understood...
By the way, 60 is the new 45 with a little bit of joint mobility problems, that is...

You can go back home any time you damn well want, too.

Have fun.

5. Don't take your snowman on a trip
Sorry I can't post the image, only the link: the New Yorker seems wisely to have precluded that. But here's a link to a cartoon from a few months back that really made me laugh:

8. just don't clothe it, It never made sense to me why a being made of snow
would need a scarf or a hat

is it trying to keep the cold in?

I suppose Frosty's magic hat would be the one exception.

11. We have a neighbour that built a huge
Snow ball and on one end is a hat, at the other, a pair of boots, on each side a glove.

I giggle every time I walk the dogs past his driveway. Enjoy your day.
