Slam article on Dennis K
I sometimes grin gears with dennis, but can someone kindly tell me why this is national news, and how it does anything except slander Dennis?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110126/ap_on_re_us/us_kucinich_lawsuit

The ministry of propaganda is trying to make liberals look bad so that people forget how bad the GOP and the tea party look.

1. The article is 100% factual, so I don't see how it can be defamatory.
It's news because he launched a $150,000 lawsuit over an olive pit.

2. I know its purpose.
To expose right-wing trolls on liberal websites. They should ooze out of the cracks when they smell a tidbit like this.

4. it comes 1 day after POTUS talks about frivolous lawsuits in the SOTU
Edited on Wed Jan-26-11 07:16 PM by Motown_Johnny
That is why it is national news and it isn't slander when it is true.

Can't Dennis just write a book and drop the crazy lawsuit? It is impossible to guarantee that every single pit will be removed from olives when the canners are processing them. This makes him look out of touch with reality.

5. he`ll get a settlement that will cover his bill and for pain and suffering
the lawyer will take their cut and it will be settled out of court. do`t blame him one bit. he has every right to sue just as anyone else.

from the comments today i noticed a lot of people agree with the ministry of propaganda

6. Yup
he has great insurance but he is not one of the wealthy. This kind of thing is very costly.

10. Of course.
The whole thing is absurd. If he had an out-of-pocket deductible ask to have it covered and move on.

11. I would assume the theory
is that why should his insurance pay if somebody else is responsible?

But without enough information to know if this was a one time issue or a longer term problem, I can't really say if I think the lawsuit is frivolous or not. Although at least the amount being requested isn't overly egregious given a need to pay for the lawyer and inconvenience in my opinion.

9. Slam? It's pure fact.
He's suing over an olive pit. If his teeth are that brittle he should avoid olives because olives occasionally contain a missed pit. Everyone with an ounce of sense knows this and eats olives with reasonable care.
