Going thru the range of emotions about Keith - now I am at anger.

Last nite I was in shock. I felt like someone punched me in the gut, even shed tears over the news. But now I find myself angry...

Angry at Msnbc for not realizing how valuable Keith is to their station, regardless of him being a difficult employee (their words, not mine)and for not doing all that they could to convince him to stay. Compromise on a raise - if that's what he wanted. Talked to him about toning it down, if that's what they wanted. They LET him walk.

Angry at Comcast for acting like Sarah Palin, not able to comprehend why fingers are being pointed at them.

Angry that Keith is being labelled as difficult, confrontational, a "loose cannon" while Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly, Rush, Savage, Erikson, etc all fit that description more than Keith, and they all remain in their jobs - high paying jobs. Even that offensive blowhard, Pat Buchanan, gets to keep his job on msnbc.

I am angry that I have an inner conflict right now. I want to boycott Msnbc - but I won't because of Rachel and Lawrence.

And yes, I am angry at Keith. I'm angry at Keith because we need his voice, now more than ever with the Repub/Tea Party having more power. Because we are heading into the first Presidential campaign that will be funded by Citizen's United. And he won't be there to set the record straight.
Yes we have Rachel, and Lawrence, and Ed, and Cenk, and Maher - but they are not Keith. They do not come out and say what needs to be said in the way that only Keith can. If Keith knew his job was in jeoprady - why didn't he just chill out a little? I don't doubt for one minute that Keith was under pressure to be different than he was. But in the end, I feel like he walked away, rather than stay and fight. Fight for the right to tell the truth to his huge following. It takes two to break a contract.

No, I don't know all the details - none of us do. It's just not right that Keith will no longer be there. And that makes me Angry.

I've never felt the need to tell people what they must do with their lives. Whatever Keith has chosen to do is his business whether we like it or not. We don't own him.

principals - but he was an important voice. Sometimes you just need to give up a part of yourself to be that voice.
He obviously didn't want to compromise, and as I said, we don't yet know all the details.

5. Liberals and Democrats get shot at and the Right Wing Gets away with STochastic Terrorism

the right wing and corporate owners of the media flush out all liberal, progressive voices from radio and tv, all while propping up a right wing extremist such as Sarah Palin. Our own President doesn't even listen to us, and we helped get him elected. Anyone see a pattern here? If ya don't, well, there isn't much I can say that will convince you of the massive disparity of representation in this country being deliberately skewed to the right.

Oh, and just to highlight how oppressed we are as liberals and democrats, peace activists are being targeted as being potential terrorist organizations. Fucking helloooooo?

You will give teabaggers and the far right even more funds. I don't know much about DISH, some people say nice things about it, but ALL of the other alternatives are serious republican party funders, they given precious little to democrats. Comcast gives to democrats and have democrats or democratic sensitive higher-ups in the company. There is the issue of one investor in Comcast being a rightwing nut, Comcast had to bring him onboard more than a decade when it needed desperate funding to avoid bankruptcy court. By boycotting Comcast, boycotters cut off funds to Comcast and will likely increase the power of the wingnut relative to more moderate players in the company.
