Arizona frat "observes" MLK day with racial stereotypes.

In a possibly related story, both Goldwater and his successor, McCain, opposed MLK, Jr. Day under the dog whistle "states' rights." Same reason Goldwater opposed federal abolition of Jim Crow.

I bet this frat was not the only ones to go bigot big time on MLK, Jr. Day.

1. Assholes.
Arizona seems to have more than their fair share of bigoted assholes. I wonder why it is. The tradition of Goldwater persists I imagine.

2. I agree.
I mean no disrespect to right thinking (meaning leftists!) people in Florida, Arizona and Texas, but those three states seem to stand out in my mind.

And, yes, Goldwater was who he was. The fact that he seems not so bad in hindsight does not take away from how bad he was in the context of his own era. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x2492649

But, someone voted for him for U.S. Senator. Quite a few times, in fact. Also voted for his son for Congress. And now finds McCain too left to be a "real" Republican. So, we can't blame Arizona solely on Goldwater. Rather, I kind of blame Arizona for Goldwater. And, to be nonpartisan about it, for Janet Napolitano, the head of Homeland Security who counseled 18 Mayors, mostly Democratic, how to react to Occupy Wall Street.

(Amazing, that Huffpo can write an entire article about Homeland Security tracking OWS without mentioning Napolitano's name.)

3. Janet Napolitano was death on Occupy Wall Street.
We ain't gonna forget it, Janet. We know you are evil.

My Aunt lived in Arizona until her death a few years back. She was a rabid Goldwater supporter back in the day. I think Arizona is just beautiful. Its beauty is wasted on those pea brains. McCain is too liberal. He only advocates bombing Iran and even jokes about it. He even named Caribou Barbie as a running mate. But he's too liberal. Holy shit!

4. But, she's an Obama appointee.
Can you imagine what DU posts would have looked if anyone in Bushco had coached those Mayors?

Then again, most of them were Democratic Mayors. Would they have been so obedient to someone from Bushco?

Occupy reminded me of Hoover ordering MacArthur and Eisenhower to clear out the Bonus Army.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

5. Oh, it's a complete betrayal.
And Occupy is no criminal terrorist group, as you know. They were only exercising their constitutional rights.

But, apparently, the Obama Administration doesn't believe in Occupy exercising their constitutional rights.

At the same time they allowed the Tea Party to carry guns to demonstrations. What does that tell us? You know what it tells us. And what does it say about the nation? It says we are already gone. The coup has taken place and it was successful for the Fascists. Although they are doing a great job of hiding it from the average American citizen. But more of us know the truth every day. If we get too uppity they will just fucking kill us.
