Not too many years ago, they finally positively ID'd both the sailor and the nurse in that most iconic of all kiss photos and they reunited them. I think it was the Today Show that did that. It was very sweet.

I happened to be watching the Oscars the night Brody won and grabbed and kissed Halle Berry.

He said, "I took a shot."


I can't remember if he said that to the Oscar audience right after he smooched her or if he said that during some interview when asked about the incident. But, I liked it. We should all take a shot when we have the opportunity. To paraphrase the cliche, "No guts, no gain."

When asked about it later, she said, "It was his moment, so...." As if to say, it was his moment, so I let him script and direct."

I thought they were both adorable about it.
