An technique of some MNBC commentators that I noticed.
You, as MNBC anchor or "contributor" from the Democratic side, take something Obama that Obama said, proposed or did.

Then one by one, you take every criticism of it by Republicans. (And that would be today's Republicans, not Republicans speaking to us from the 1980s).

And, as you raise each point, you disprove it.

Let's take immigration "reform" as an example.

So, you raise the Republican criticism that Obama is not serious about enforcement.

Then, you point out that Obama did during his first term more about enforcement than any other President since Nixon. (That group includes Republicans Ford, Reagan, Poppy Bush and Dummya, as well as DLCer Clinton).

You also point out all the part of Obama's proposal that focus on enforcement.

You do that for every other Republican criticism of the proposal.

At the end, you triumphantly conclude that Republicans haver told a passel of lies about Obama's proposal.

Yippeee!

But, haven't you also proven that the proposal is pretty much exactly what the Republicans--again, Republican of 2013--are decribing as their ideal immigration reform bill?

"Republicans are saying that Democrats are not giving them what they want but I will painstakingly prove in detail that Republicans are lying are lying about that. In fact Democrats are giving Republicans everything Republicans want."

Is that really what Democratic triumph looks like these days?

1. Well, you weren't supposed to tell that. It was a secret.
Duh. It is downright disgusting. You have described the very mechanism through which the Democratic Party embraces Republican ideology.

I love it (not really) when Democratic Party talking heads cite a Republican as evidence that they are on the right path. Durbin did it the other day. I can't remember what the issue was right off my head. But at the time, I thought, Democrats do this every damn day.

The grilling of Hagel gave MSNBC mucho ammunition. The Republican idiots (and that is the only word for them) wanted Hagel to admit that Dubya's failed Iraq War policies were wonderful and a model for future foreign policy. When Hagel didn't agree to their fantasy they thought it was evidence that he was unfit for duty, lol.

They really never paid for the Iraq War lying thing at all. Time to call them out. Cue MSNBC.

2. Ah, yes, Hagel. I am also supposed to view as a victory confirmation,

as Secretaqry of Defense, no less, a Republican who tried to keep a gay man from becoming ambassador and who, judging by his confirmation hearing, is not especially bright or well suited for the job, either..

Yippeee. Another win for Democrats!

Getting Republican wish list bills passed and having a Republican administration.

Just what every Democrat has always wanted to donate for, volunteer for, and vote for.

Gawd help me, but I so do love the smell of victory in the morning.

I only wish I knew what the fuck we're supposed to be winning and who it is who is doing all that losing while I'm doing all this winning.

(Where is Charlie Sheen when you really need him?)

3. I'm watching Maddow right now.
I must say, she is doing a great job calling out the insanity of the Republicans. I feel this is an essential task that must be performed in order to stem the tide of Idiocracy.

Her perfect example was Rand Paul's completely tin foil bonkers claim that Clinton's state department might have assisted the sneaking of Libyan weapons into Turkey. You know, Turkey, that dangerous extremist state? Rand spoke at length about this on World Net Daily and Newsmax, lol. And this guy is a front runner for the GOP presidential nomination? Give me strength.

5. He might not be an actual front runner.
But as out of touch with reality as he is, he probably considers himself a front runner. He is first dumbass that is for sure.

7. Example du jour: How dare Republicans, having no evidence, insinuate that
that our Democratic President doesn't really shoot rifles?

First of all, the photo is pretty clearly posed, but so are a lot of Presidential pics.

Second of all, since when do Democrats care, one way or another, if a Democratic President really knows his way around a rifle or not?

I sure don't.

But, a number of us have been acting as though Republicans suggesting he doesn't know his way around a rifle are torturing our respective firstborns.

This country has not only jumped the shark, it's jumped the shark right through the looking glass.
