That appears to have been the choice he had.

5. you seem to have the inside scoop, then. What is the choice?
An account I read this morning states Numerous staffers at MSBNC believed Olbermann concluded he would no longer have the independence he craved in the more buttoned-down Comcast era.

10. Keith was principled & strong. He's NOT a sellout.
I just believe they told him that they were gonna do his show differently, strip it's format, censure his newscast and Keith has too much integrity (journalistic & otherwise) to compromise.

There is still Journalists who believe in the truth & won't sell out Real reporting for $$ in conservative news (and ad sales--Corporations are usually Republican & spend their ad $$ accordingly). I know people in print (not major National papers, but larger local outlets) who quit & switch careers because it's not about Journalism anymore.

Mathews got Donahue fired from MSNBC
MSNBC canned Ashley Banfield because she won't play journalist sex kitten like the fox news women

Fact: the owner of Comcast is a RABID republican. FACT: He's friends with Murdoch.

Speculation on my part: I think this is some bullshit favor to Murdoch (fox news) over O'Reilly. OR a warning shot to the other hosts so they can say Liberal News fails (without Keith) and we are changing our format.

Therefore: In my opinion Keith had NO choice. He WOULD NOT let us, his fans who love him, watch him sell out. He did it for us.

6. I'll leave that decision to Keith
If he couldn't work for them any longer, then I hope he turns up somewhere else.

8. Correct.
That was his choice there. There are stipulations regarding future employment per network tv. But tv isn't limited to network these days.

Comcast was willing to pay a large amount to get rid of Keith. They may pay an even higher price.
