Multiple people shot near Texas A&M University
Oh good. We'll get to hear from that great defender of the constitution, Ted Nugent, again.

"Police took a man into custody Monday after "multiple people" were shot near Texas A&M University, a police official said.

Several law enforcement officers were among the people shot, Rhonda Seaton of the College Station Police Department told CNN. She didn't have information on how many people were shot or their conditions.

She said a person identified as the gunman was in custody. The shooting happened about one block from campus, Seaton said.

The university had warned people to stay away from the intersection of Welborn Road and George Bush Drive as well as part of Fidelity Drive in College Station, Texas."

3. Heard a Democratic pundit say only this past weekend that gun ownership seems to have no relation to
gun crimes.

He mentioned that Canada has one of the highest per capita rates of gun ownership yet one of the lowest rates of gun crime.

IIRC, it was on the McLaughlin Group. I do recall McLaughlin saying that gun ownership in the U.S. is now 300 million (that we know of, of course), which is almost one gun for every person of any age in the United States.

Hurry up and buy still more guns and bullets before November, though, becaause they are saying that Obama will take your gun rights away. Yes, they acknowledge that he did not do it yet.

But, ya know, if he is re-elected, he will have nothing to lose. So, he's been waiting all along for re-election for his opportunity to take your gun rights away.

:banghead:

Reminds me of that evangelist who, based on his interpretation of the Bible, predicted that the world would end some months ago. And, when it didn't end on the date he had firmly predicted and explained to us, he simply moved the date back, rather than admit he had been wrong.

Meanwhile, I bet his donation income went up after both predictions. Ditto the gun industry. But, hey, look on the bright side: at least some of them manufacture in the U.S.

4. "As he lay dying, the gunman offered an apology for what he had done."
I have no words...

The gunman who killed two others before police ended his life in a shootout near Texas A&M University had been battling mental health issues on and off for years, his mother said.

Police say Thomas Caffall, known to his family as "Tres," killed a constable and a bystander and injured four others Monday before police fatally shot him.

His mother, Linda Weaver, said the family became worried after Caffall quit his job in January and announced that he would never work again.

"We had been very concerned about him," Weaver told CNN.
Slain College Station Police Department Constable Brian Bachmann.Caffall had withdrawn from the family, and the fear was that he might attempt suicide, his mother said..."
