I remember when MSNBC was all Republican programming.
And, of course, mornings at MSNBC are still Republican. But, the afternoon and evening time slots have been increasingly filled with those who favor the obama administration.
As of last year, MSNBC president Phil Griffin stated that "MSNBC has established a sensibility, a position, a platform" and that "MSNBC is really the place to go for progressives."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MSNBCAnd that's probably almost true, as long as you think that "progressive" is synonymous with the Obama administration and you don't count all the little digs the supposedly objective folk like Willie Geist, Chuck Todd and Mark Halperin get in at all Democrats, including Obama.
P.S. I read further in the wiki and found this:
MSNBC was launched on July 15, 1996. The first show, which was anchored by Jodi Applegate, broadcast a lineup of news, interviews, and opinions.<17> During the day, rolling news coverage continued with The Contributors, a show that featured Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham, as well as interactive programming coordinated by Applegate, John Gibson, and John Seigenthaler. Stories were generally longer and more detailed than the stories running on CNN at the time. NBC also highlighted their broadcast connections by airing stories direct from the NBC network affiliates, along with breaking news coverage from the same sources.<18>
Gradually MSNBC began to put more emphasis on politics<1>'/div]
As if shows with Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham (sp?), Jodi Applegate and John Gibson were not political? Just straight news?
LMHO. We've gone straight through the looking glass.
