2. No. There is a noncompete clause in his settlement agreement.

According to this article: http://mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/01/21/olbermann-hosts-last-countdown-on-msnbc/ he will not be able to move to another network for quite awhile.

15. Oh Gawd...I just read it...
"Mr. Olbermann did not discuss any future plans, but NBC executives said one term of his settlement will keep him from moving to another network for an extended period of time".

Now it REALLY sucks....I can't believe he'd aggree to this!

24. Non-compete clauses are not always enforceable
Depending on the circumstances under which a contract is terminated, a non-compete clause may not be able to be enforced. My brother, after being terminated from a company he was working for, started his own business (the same kind of business). His previous employer sued based on a non-compete clause in his contract. The courts, however, held in my brother's favor, stating that non-compete clauses cannot be used to prevent an individual from making a living, and thus only be enforced when the employee leaves voluntarily, not when he or she is terminated by the company.

7. You have to be kidding!
He is a liberal, after all.

I cannot see them wanting to have him on their network in the same role he had on MSNBC.

21. Had 2 years
They negotiated an end to his contract. Reports so far is he can't work for another network for the rest of 2011.

9. As long as MSNBC agrees to pay him

he could be off the air for 2 years.

We were going to need him to battle FOX News in 2012.

22. Only if his contract was still in effect.
They negotiated an end to his contract, so the 2 years doesn't matter.

However, the negotiations reportedly included a new agreement that reportedly will keep him off other networks for a year.

16. The writing isn't good enough, IMO...
So much of his appeal lies in his humor and general persona..

You can't really get that across in writing.

27. He's burned too many bridges.
I doubt CNN would take him back and there is no way in hell he would ever work at Fox News, not that they would hire him anyway. So stop suggesting that people! That's just moronic... I think he has a place on the TYT Nework, though.

28. No.
Some form of fair and balance would have to exist in the media for that to happen. It does not in the Fascist Corporate States of America. The comcast "merger" was the end.
