Heads up for my fellow LinkedIn members...just got a phishing email
Went to my main email address, which is NOT associated with my LinkedIn account.

It actually went into my junk mail filter, and appropriately so.

Subject line was "Locked Account."

Because it was Web-based email and there was no attachment, I decided it was safe to take a look (even though I knew it was bogus).

The body said something like my account was locked because of to many failed login attempts, and for more info click here (followed by what was undoubtedly a forged link).

Naturally, I didn't click on it.

And just for laughs I went to my LinkedIn account and logged in without issue.

So if you get a similar email, just shitcan it. Don't click on the links.

2. Yep - got 2 this week.
One was from: "Bonnie Howell (LinkedIn Messages)" <messages-noreply@linkedin.com>
Title: Rank higher in the search engines!

The other had to do with online dating and used the linkedin noreply@linked.com email as well.

Both had masked links (to.d rather than company.com) and neither appeared in my LI inbox. The former is suspicious, the latter is a spam given.

4. I got a suspect one today
Mine said Linkedin disabled my account due to inactivity. I have no idea if it's valid or not. Don't care. I never use Linkedin anyway.

6. I get those about 20x a week, but for
my msn email account. I delete them.

The first one I got startled me, so I pasted the title of the email into google search and learned it and others like it are hoaxes - scams, actually, in which some assholes are trying to get your information.

8. I click on them
and then fill the blanks with whatever pops into my head.
I used to use George Bush and Dick Cheney. Made up ID's like upyers@screwu.com, etc.
Make the clowns sift through the bs to find some usable information from the idiots that answer truthfully.
