Former GOP Rep. Says Gingrich Is ‘An Evil Person’
Edited on Tue Nov-29-11 04:07 PM by cal04
Former Rep. Guy Molinari (R-NY) unloaded on GOP presidential frontrunner Newt Gingrich today, calling the former House Speaker “an evil person” who has “got all kinds of baggage.” Molinari, who works on Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign, went on to say that “The thought that could be president of the United States is appalling.” Far from the only Republican trashing the former House speaker, conservatives of all stripes have publicly grumbled about Gingrich’s record. In the last week alone, radio host Don Imus called Gingrich a “greasy, repulsive man,” longtime Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) tweeted, “RReagan was a friend of mine and you Newt are no RR,” and a Christian leader in Iowa, Cary Gordon, said, “Newt is famous for being all over the board,” before declaring, “I don’t trust him.”

"The thought that this man could be president of the United States is appalling," said Molinari, whose enmity for Gingrich goes back to their days in the House together. "He's got all kinds of baggage.

Molinari claims that Gingrich bumped him from his slot as ranking Republican on the Investigations and Oversight subcommittee of the Public Works and Transportation Committee even though there was a written agreement not to do so.

"This guy is evil," Molinari said. "He's an evil person."

Molinari said that Gingrich's double-cross "ended my career" in the House and led to him running for borough president in 1989.

2. Tell those damn liberals to shut up!
Who cares what they say, anyway?

Naturally, if this was happening in the Democratic camp, the media would trip all over themselves to paint the Democrats as being in disarray. It's one of their favorite narratives. Republicans going after each other in this fashion just baffles them. So they ignore the story and hope it goes away of its own accord, and that right soon.

4. "Molinari, who works on Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign,"
Interesting to see Mittens wallowing in the dirt this early.

7. Not Really Early...
Iowa is a little over 5 weeks away and New Hampshire right after that. The Manchester Union endorsement was a big feather in Gnewt's cap and Mittens doesn't want him to gain any traction. Mittens needs to win New Hampshire BIG...

9. Ha! Guy Molinari...
I lived on Staten Island when Guy was trying to get it to secede from the rest of New York City.
Let's just say that Guy is a bit of a "greasy, repulsive man" with "all kinds of baggage" himself.

Sort of one of those "takes one to know one" situations...

12. Damn, I misread one sentence and thought Gordon said, "famous for being all over the broad."
That would probably work too.

13. As I recall, Susan Molinari married Bill Paxon, and Paxon was part of the coup attempt on Gingrich.
He subsequently left the House.
