60 years on, elderly man with conscience repays store $100
Edited on Tue Nov-29-11 01:51 PM by Robb
SEATTLE, Wash. -- An elderly man who confessed to stealing money from a Sears store in the 1940s gave the money back on Monday - with interest.

The man hand-delivered an envelope addressed to "Sears manager" to a customer service counter on the second floor of the store in downtown Seattle at about 10 a.m. (1 p.m. ET)

Inside the envelope was a note and a $100 bill.

The note read: "During the late (forties) I stole some money from the cash register in the amount of $20-$30 ... I want to pay you back this money in the amount of $100 to put in your theft account."

1. What a nice story - and kudos to Sears for not releasing
the video.

I hope he sleeps well. :)

5. Live and let live.
It was over 60 years ago and the guy had a conscience. I say, no arrests. =)

6. listen up, younglings! the older you get the clearer your life becomes
if you are going to ever purge all the stoopid you will when you get older. It weighs on you because the person you are right now will not be the person you are when you are 60. That person will have died and been shed about three times. They will be a faded memory, a gray ghost in your emotional and mental closet. They will be like someone else you knew once. As you get older sometimes you get wiser and things that didn't seem so bad when you were 20 will be like stones in your heart at 60. Good on this guy and good on you. Your day is coming. :-D
