Did anyone else see Ann Coulter on Morning Joe today?
Edited on Tue Nov-29-11 01:04 PM by CTyankee
I'm proud of myself. I was calm and collected and opted to hear what ludicrous thing she was going to say. Sure enough, she made some really vile remark about the late Ted Kennedy. Mika looked stunned. They then spent about 10 minutes in the next segment (Coulter mercifully gone) lovingly remembering Teddy. It was nice. I can only speculate that they shelved something else to have that discussion after she appalled them. If you go on the MJ website on msnbc.com
the segment with Coulter today is missing. I wonder whose bright idea it was to book her on the show...

My guess is that they got a blistering from the viewers via tweet...

OK, I'm editing to give you the segment I found on Politico via google (she called Ted Kennedy "human pestilence).

3. Why does she always wear cocktail dresses at 6am?
Does she do the walk of shame into every morning interview?

5. It's part of her schtick. She's a package deal, comes with her own costume.
I doubt if she'll be getting anywhere NEAR msnbc any time soon...

the show for having her on when everyone with a brain knows how horrible she always is. They should have known and look like idiots.

Coulter and Tom Delay are people I just wont watch - ever. I'm trying to think of who else has been added to that list.

7. This was obviously a disaster for Morning Joe. I don't think they expected her
to be that bad. Finger pointing now underway I'll bet among the Morning Joe staff...

8. agree,
someone on his staff is going to take the heat for this.

But if Joe wants to control the show, he's got to be able to carry the conversation and keep his guests in line.

Would have loved to see the segment, but knowing all that I know about Coulter I can pretty much know what happened.

9. Oh, please
She is a vile mutant. Anyone who doesn't realize what her deal is and what a disgusting pig she can be doesn't belong producing a show for a legit news outlet.

But, as my parents used to say, "You lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas."

14. In MJ's mind, Coulter is as bad as, say, Thom Hartmann or Kieth Olbermann...
Or Al Franken.

He was just reminded how wrong he is - but he will forget in a few days. Because it fits his worldview narrative.

What else is he gonna do? Admit that the "great American" McCain brought in a racist rodeo clown for the VP slot because he was desperate and wanted The Presidency so bad he could taste it?

16. Some producer got jammed up or lazy, and Ann answered the phone
The on-air talent might want certain guests to come on, but the folks who do the actual calling are the producers and their assistants. My guess is someone cancelled at the last minute, and time has to be filled. Somebody spun their Rolodex and Coulter's name popped up. Like any good conservative nitwit, Coulter said yes when asked to fill some time, and spewed her usual mean little squirts of bile.

Her act has grown quite old, and it's possible that you just saw her swan song on Morning Joe, at least as a last-minute fill-in. One can only hope.

19. The salient point is they KNOW what she's about, that she made remarks about Kent State
and also about baseball bats and "killing their leaders" and poisoning creme brulee - and STILL they put her on. They will CONTINUE to put her on.

Same shit, different day. It's like, no matter how much violence she promotes (whether in jest or otherwise), it's okay with them.
