1. read the book it's probably based upon, by a former NPR guy. can't think of his name

it's pretty interesting, and some of the revelations are astounding, as well as the silly, ridiculously tame items which CBS tried to keep them from airing

particularly when compared to what's aired today, you won't believe how asinine the editorial struggles the higher ups at CBS saddled them (almost completely taken on by Tommy) with turned out to be

the best thing on the show, in retrospect (most of it doesn't wear well at all) was the musical guest list

This show wears pretty well; enjoying it.

7. pete seeger got as badly screwed as any entertainer since TV began

truly shameful treatment by CBS as Tommy tried and tried to get him on the show

Saw his Christmas in Europe yesterday.
I avoid 'rich, healthy' stuff. Have 3 PBS stations here, fortunately!
