"I haven't had a raise in 3 years 'because of the economy,'"
But my CEO has made $10 million a year. How is that fair?" -- a tweet shown on the bottom of the screen on "The Ed Show." This is why OWS is not going to go away.

4. He/she worked the system harder...
Getting a full board of directors consisting of backscratching cronies who rubber stamp your golden parachute and outsized stock options takes a lot of work.

6. And don't forget all of those jobs that the CEO created!
How many did this anonymous, raise-less tweeter create? Hmm?

3. I'm a small business owner who has less income each year
the last three years but I still managed to give my staff a small raise. The ultrarich need to pay more taxes - if they don't pay a small amount more now they will be paying those 90% rates in a few years when we have no other option as a country.

7. What timing... I just said this to someone in email...
As if to illustrate a point, or suggest that my email is tapped (you decide), __________ just left for the day after arriving here nearly two hours after me… and on her way out she told _________ not to stay just to do media monitoring. I was the first one here today… as per usual. Sort of annoying considering the massive workload I have right now. But what’s really annoying is I don’t want to get a temp for a day or two a week as _______ suggested. We’d never get the same person, so we’d spend half the time training which would only add to the work. Plus, any money we don’t spend could easily bump the bonus pool… except I’m sure it won’t matter all that much to my bonus… coffee is for closers… and bonus money is for rainmakers.

One rainmaker bonus would change my life drastically.

I got a rock. (In Charlie Brown’s voice.)

I feel badly for complaining... I do get raises and bonuses... at 'my' level.

Sigh.

Yet the company always has thousands and thousands of dollars to spend on upgrading the hotel she works in.

(While they keep raising room rates.)

12. That's odd. I did get a raise this year -- because of the economy.
Edited on Mon Nov-28-11 09:12 PM by Atman
Got a 3% cost of living adjustment. Last year it was more, but they called it a salary increase. And my boss doesn't make anywhere near $10,000,000 a year. I think someone is yankin' his crank.

16. No pension increase in longer than that here
Plus the co-pays and deductibles for our health insurance go up every year so we are losing ground.
