People feel so powerless these days knowing the fix is in, and has been in for some long time. The costs associated with education have become out of reach for most and become a lifetime debt for others. Money has bought the political process almost paralyzing chance of reforms. College grads can't find work because American labor is outsourced to foreign laborers to satisfy the profits of stockholders. Money also buys the media ads which constantly demonize defenders of the environment, labor unions, or any entity that attempts to make life better here at home. So what do people do when mainstays like 'the Chamber of Commerce' or majors news outlets like 'Fox' beat a steady drumroll favoring the fortunate few and calling everyone else unworthy. Honestly, I was beginning to think that it was hopeless to try to fight these people, muchless win.
Yet, somehow, I see that anything is possible if the majority speaks with one voice and never loses its' resolve. If I could attend a rally within driving distance, I would love to. If there is something I can do more than just give moral support, I'd like to know. This is a decisive time for these young people to achieve a humane future for themselves and their environment. It's an enormous opportunity. I may be old, but I agree with their goals as I have understood them. I praise them for their efforts, their peaceful practice of assembly, and their incredible ability to endure against the greatest police and military state on earth. God speed and bless them.
