The internet is in mortal danger (and now, not later):
The bill coming up to vote on freedom in the internet threatens the very kinds of social tools that have allowed the Arab Spring as well as tools that have enabled progressives to organize OWS and other movements (as well as use this technology to win in '08)

2. I bet I can name a time when the net would be shut down
If we had the internet and DU on this date in 1963, I can only imagine the hate and threats flying around the message boards as everyone sought to affix blame on someone or some group, including the repub party. As a sixteen year older living in Boston, I do know we were not fond of Dallas and all the events surrounding the murder of JFK for years to come. That was a bad time, followed soon thereafter by the murders of MLK and RFK.

We can only imagine the vitriol that would be flying between DU-like message boards and Freak Republic and FoxPAC News-like forums 24/7.

I'm betting some repub dickhead dreamed up this threat on internet freedom, and is thinking along the same lines, and wants to "control" the situation.

I wonder if the teabaggers support this crap.

3. If this bill passes and become law
OWS will grow exponentially. Once things start actually being taken down and even the zombies notice the fascism when they log on and find all their favorite websites gone and their fandom community gone, shit will get real.

4. Our overlords have no choice but to proceed at an accelerated rate to shut
down our remaining freedoms. OWS will not diminish, therefore, our overlords have to tighten the screws. THere is no other way. This is it, whether you like it or not.
