Newt:"I worked too hard and things happened in my life that were not appropriate."
Um, ok.

So I decided to look up more about him in Wikipedia to refresh my memory about his being forced out of the House and the ethic charges/fines.

The quote in the subject heading...is the reason he gave for the affairs that he had.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newt_gingrich

Six months after the divorce from Battley was final, Gingrich wed Marianne Ginther in 1981.<128><129><130><131> In the mid-1990s, Gingrich began an affair with House of Representatives staffer Callista Bisek, who is 23 years his junior. They continued their affair during the Lewinsky scandal, when Gingrich became a leader of the investigation of President Clinton for perjury and obstruction of justice in connection with his alleged affairs.<132> In 2000, Gingrich married Bisek shortly after his divorce from second wife Ginther. He and Callista currently live in McLean, Virginia.<133> In a 2011 interview with David Brody of the Christian Broadcasting Network Gingrich addressed his past infidelities by saying, "There's no question at times in my life, partially driven by how passionately I felt about this country, that I worked too hard and things happened in my life that were not appropriate."<130><131>

----------------------

So in a nutshell, he is saying that patriotism and hard work turned him into an adulterer?

Twice.

And now he wants to be POTUS.

Good to see his career goal is a low level, no-stress-at-all kind of job.

2. Today he decided to pander to the Palinistas.............
In an interview with Kevin Scholla, Newt Gingrich said that if elected President, he’d assign Governor Palin three-four major assignments having to do with rooting out corruption, energy, and opening federal land.

Sounds like he is hinting at a VP post for Palin - LOL, DO IT NEWT - it worked so well for McCain!

4. Newt is the best at bullshit!
He's amazing at combining unrelated things to change topics and deflect attention. "See, he didn't mean to cheat on his wife. The poor man was so overworked defending freedom... Awwww..."

Too patriotic? Wow. I wonder how much it cost for his PR consultants to produce that focus-grouped response in advance...

Whatever, Newt.

Anyway...

"I was so patriotic, I cheated on my wife. Vote for me." :patriot:

"I felt so passionately about freedom, I yearned to break free from my marriage."

"Too much was I loyal to the cause freedom, such that I could not stay loyal to my wife."

:eyes: :puke:

7. Also, "at times in my life"...
you mean ALL THE TIME? I hope any woman that actually goes out with this guy knows she's got a couple of months tops before he starts looking for the future Ex-Mrs. Gingrich.

8. "I worked too hard and things happened in my life that were not appropriate."
The president has a faster paced schedule & a higher degree of responsibility than Newt probably ever had. And Newt admits that when he works hard he makes inappropriate decisions.

16. Here's an idea, Newt: Go away.
Stop working too hard, since it seems everything you work at is "not appropriate".

Retire. Do your part for the economy and spend spend spend. Stay away from Washington, stay away from policy, and take the time to act appropriately.

19. Things happened?
Take some personal responsibility for your behavior, fucktard. Isn't that what the right-wing is always expecting everyone else to do?

I work pretty damn hard too, and I've never cheated on my husband. That kind of reasoning is just a bullshit excuse for a lapse in character and judgment.
