Roll Over, Grover!
Edited on Mon Nov-21-11 07:22 PM by Pistarkle
Tea Partied Republican Congress members have put an end to Super Committee deficit reduction negotiations over a “PLEDGE” TO RIGHT WING POLITICAL LOBBYIST, GROVER NORQUIST!

They REJECTED President Obama’s 2011 Deficit Reduction Plan set forth before the Committee and DEMANDED that the Committee extend the Bush Tax Cuts for the wealthy, holding the extension of unemployment benefits and the extension of payroll tax cuts for small businesses hostage if they didn’t get their way. What about their ‘pledge’ to the American people when they took their Oath of Office swearing to take their obligations “freely, without any mental reservations or purpose of evasion”?

Roll over, Grover…
• 68% of Americans – across the political spectrum – want the wealthy to bear their fair share of taxes.
• 68% of WEALTHY Americans want the wealthy to bear their fair share of taxes.
• A group of millionaires went to Congress this weekend expressing their support of a 39.6% tax hike for those that make “1 million plus”. A spokesperson for the group stated that tax hikes are “the single most effective measure to deal with the deficit”.

to describe where they specifically will make spending cuts, despite the fact they want no new revenues from increased taxes and all deficit reduction must come from decreased spending. They aren't brave enough to tell seniors they will get less medicare or social security. They aren't brave enough to get up in Congress and tell veterans their benefits will be cut.
