John Kerry and Baucus try for a Hail Mary for Supercommittee
Needless to say, I am concerned...

I just saw on CNN John Kerry offered some last minute tax plan. I have no idea what it is. Just leave this stinker alone. Any supercommittee "deal" will NOT be good for Democrats. Walk away guys. The public doesn't give a shit about the supercommittee. They will, however, care if the supercommittee produces a plan that lowers corporate rates while simultaneously cutting Social Security and Medicare.

3. A tiny, tiny bit of inof on this
GOP Leadership aide says "At the 11th hour, Sen. Kerry offered a new gimmick to get to the Democrats' same trillion-dollar tax hike."

(tweet from Jill Jackson, CBS correspondent on the Hill)

4. Might just be more political maneuvering so Democrats dont get the blame for this turkey.
If so I am fine with it. That is part of the process of making things happen.

7. We've given the GOP plenty of opportunities. It will not be blamed on Democrats
Of course, we can't control how the media reports on it unfortunately.

8. Kerry is pretty close to a 1%er if not a 1%er. Baucus is always
for the rich guys.

They are not the kinds of Democrats we want and need today. Neither of them is truly middle class. Neither of them is working class.

Kerry is just protecting his own tax bracket.

11. Senator Kerry
does not want to continue the Bush tax cuts, which he voted against in 2001 and 2003.

13. Bullshit. If Kerry is too rich to be a democrat, so was FDR.

15. The difference is that FDR prosecuted those of his wealthy class
and protected the interests of the jobless and poor. He set up Social Security. Kerry wants to "compromise" to begin to destroy Social Security.

FDR was wealthy but did not put the interests of the wealthy before his own.

My parents were teenagers during the Depression. FDR was their hero.

When the teenagers of today tell their stories to their children, Kerry will not be one of the heroes. He will be viewed as one who worked with other wealthy people to protect his privileged position.
