3. I was a weird Asperger's kid...
... but the general consensus among school bullies was that I was gay.

I suffered some awful beatings for it.

When I look at these pictures it makes me sad to think how many of these children were punished and denied by their peers and by the adults in their lives when they ought to have been celebrated for who they were.

5. True story: when I was younger and still struggling with my sexuality, I destroyed everything I had
that reflected my sexual orientation. Obviously, this meant I threw away all the childhood photos that would have been funny to look at today, but brought me such pain back then.

The photos at the link are funny, though. :D :hi:

6. This website made me feel oddly sad...
happy and sad I guess. I just wonder what my mom and uncle felt like as kids, knowing that they were gay, but unable to do anything about it. My uncle's mom (maternal grandma to me) never cared, or at least not as long as I knew her and knew what being gay meant. My mom's parents took a bit longer to come around.
