After peaceful Steel Bridge arrests, disruption at downtown banks

Hours after 25 were arrested for blocking a Steel Bridge on-ramp, various groups of people affiliated with the Occupy movement moved downtown to disrupt bank branches.

The arrests on the east side of the bridge began at about 8 a.m., and after a delayed procession across the river and rally near the Portland Saturday Market, the large group began its chanting and marching towards banks.

Several people gained access to a Wells Fargo branch inside the Standard Insurance Center at Southwest 5th and Salmon and were also taken into custody by police.
