Front page in a red town

We've been pleasantly surprised by our reception. Still a bit wary, with good reason, but surprised just the same. At the very least, it's quite interesting. Here's today's article:

1. I think the movement confuses teabaggers...
In their hearts they want to join in... it is, afterall, all about the things they have been lied to about.

2. That is a GOOD news capture!
Seeing the Occupy events occurring in big cities and small is wonderful. Thanks for posting this and THANKS for what you are doing in your city.

Recommended.

4. Okay, I see like 2 1/2 people in that grainy picture. And where the fuck is Greeley?

6. Greeley is north of Denver CO
We have a couple of retired folks who Occupy while others are working 9-5 and others are in class. Some of our protesters have more than one job but get to the camp as often as they can. Others have family obligations that keep them from Occupying as much as they'd like. A rather astonishingly high number of citizens are very supportive with food and other supplies in lieu of the time they don't have. Some, like me, have health issues that keep us from participating more fully. The day after the camp was set up we got a foot of snow, and the camp remained occupied. We might not be as big as other towns, or as flashy when it comes to news, but we are determined and committed.

Now, why the fuck was your question so rude?

7. Sorry. I didn't mean to be rude. I'm just tired. It just seemed like the paper was marginalizing
the movement with that photograph. I lived in NH for 10 years so I'm used to that tactic. Seriously, I didn't mean to offend anyone but my language is fucking rude sometimes - I'm a natural born asshole. At least they can put up tents. I'm disturbed by the court system in NYC. As I read it, they can occupy the private park but NOT with sleeping bags or tents. That isn't going to be so great in a couple of weeks. If you haven't seen the clips of the retired Philly police chief speaking (and another one of him getting arrested), they're on the DU main page.

I'd be down in Harrisburg, PA with the other (estimated 300) people if my back wasn't screwed up. That's a long story, but I need a back brace and can't even think about such things without feeling angry at my body. Again, sorry to be offensive. More power to them!

Still, the newspaper photo makes it look like a campground site, not an occupation. That's the way FOX is dealing with it from what I've seen. I'm really pissed that the police are being ordered to arrest and evict peaceful demonstrators when the damn teabaggers were allowed to occupy whatever area they wanted AND WITH GUNS! This just doesn't say "democracy" to me.

8. I find the pattern suspicious: something's weird but not sure what...
...it is. This isn't the first report of a "red" town being all warm and fuzzy towards the Occupiers. And all the officials from the blue towns are being villified to all hell. I sense a pattern, and I don't know what it is, but it is obviously political in some way. (But-- no offense to your particular town intended.)
