Just got back from my first Occupy protest

This one was in Frederick, Maryland.

There were 40 to 50 people waving signs at the intersection of Patrick and Market streets. A nice-sized crowd, considering the cold and windy weather, on a weekday. And considering that they organized less than a week ago, in a conservative part of Maryland.

We were predominantly older folks, but there were 20-somethings too. Lots of people in cars passing by honked, waved and cheered. I didn't see any cops but maybe they were plainclothes ones.

The Occupy Frederick folks are having a general assembly this Saturday, Nov. 19, at 5 p.m. in All Saints Episcopal Church at 106 Church Street. Look for Occupy Frederick at the North Court street entrance. Occupy Frederick will be upstairs in the Parish Hall.
