Great new commercial (and it's by Toyota)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=u-b4x0mGPIc

Kelly Clarkson suits up in a fancy dress and high heels to star in a new commercial for the Toyota Camry. In the spot, which premiered Sunday night, Kelly is seen in silhouette, walking with three men -- it looks very much like the opening of the X Factor where you see the judges entering, backlit. One man is ESPN sportscaster Chris Berman, the second is chef and Bizarre Foods host Andrew Zimmern; the third is James Lipton, host of Inside the Actor's Studio. They're all there to demonstrate all the cool information at your disposal in your new Camry: you can get sports scores, make restaurant reservations and buy movie tickets. Kelly's there to illustrate that you can also stream music.

All four of them get in the car, with Kelly in the driver's seat. They exchange a look, Kelly hits a button on the dashboard, and her new song "What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)" starts up as all four start singing along. Yes, even James Lipton!

16. Uh, it was POPCORN. Get it? Movies...popcorn?
Oh well, I thought it was pretty weak. And seriously, "What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)" as a theme song for Toyota? Really? Are you sure it wasn't " What Doesn't Kill You (Anymore)"?

3. I saw it a couple times.
Didn't recognize any of the players and saw it as selling internet on your dashboard.

Not impressed.

(Toyota lover. I have a Camry and a Prius.)

Thanks much. I know my life is full, sorry you have such a jaded view of life in general. And yes I edited this sentence because humor is in short fucking supply around here.

6. I've heard their names and seen them but didn't recognize them
out of context.

I do however know that is Patrick Stewart's bald spot.

(don't know the kitty though, looks like a purrer with a bit of a feisty streak)

I recognized Berman and Zimmern instantly, though.

12. Come on now...unfair to include unicorns in that list!
But I get your point...I guess it's still OK to laugh and be silly while the world falls apart. :hi:

13. The spot makes no sense to me at all....
Recognized Lipton and Zimmern, not the others, had no idea they represented 'information'. The girl, don't recognize, sports figures I don't know at all, don't know the song, do not know that it is 'X Factor' like. We sat here and discussed how odd the spot is.
I am happy to read this as it explains the spot's intention, which evaded me entirely.

17. Pardon a slightly off topic comment....
I hate most commercials and mentally or physically turn them off. But, there is one that I always watch: Korean Airlines. those giant languorous models and sleek modern planes make me want to go right out and buy a ticket to anywhere on THAT airline! :)

19. I like the catchy UPS Commercial song..."Logistics"
and the ETrade baby commercial..."I'm in here because it appears that riding the dog like a small pony is FROWNED UPON IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT!" mom takes laptop hanging on the crib, but he has his iPhone with an eTrade Ap hidden under his blanky.... "Nobody knoooows..." funny stuff.

Two commercials that make me smile. I hate most commercials too and mute them when they're on.

18. I love Kelly Clarkson
and her new CD, which includes the song from the commercial, is great. Too bad the commercial is for Toyota though.

20. It looks like pretty standard fare to me.
But, since I don't watch a lot of commercial TV, maybe this is "great" in comparison to what's usually out there.
