Deputy Carries Frightened Deer Off the Road
?Deer are famous for "freezing" in the headlight beams of oncoming cars, but for a doe on a rural Michigan highway, there were not only headlights but a mild collision with a car that left it frozen with fear in the middle of the road. The incident last Friday was captured by the video unit of a patrol car used by Deputy Ryan Swartz of the Huron County Sheriff's Department (the video was released Monday). Swartz, who was responding to the deer-versus-vehicle call, was unable to coax the doe off the roadway, so he just lifted the animal and carried it to the embankment."
(There's a video embedded in the link-sorry if this is not the right place for these things)

2. And he'd be just as quick to mace you for looking at him the wrong way...
I don't think that acts like this represent the measure of a man's character. It takes a certain mindset to enter the field of law enforcement...

4. I agree: all cops are bad bad bad, and reports of non-bad cops are nothing but statistical anomalies

8. My uncle was a cop for 20 years...
And my brother in law is a sheriff. I don't like blanket judgments of cops, recent developments notwithstanding. Just think, earlier this year we praised cops in Wisconsin for marching with anti-Walker demonstrators.

13. I think this goes well with the 'not all cops are bad' idea. Not all people
make wonderful neighbors, some neighbors are terrible. Some even say not all politicians are evil weasels.

Perhaps it's because with the millions of people available, some are good and some are not so good. With that, it stands to reason that smaller groups made up of those millions of people, some of the good and not so good will be included in those groups.

Not all preachers are bad, nor are they all good. Not all doctors have a good bed side manner, many do.
