Looks like Syria is our next target for a glorious liberation
I'm sure the flowers and dancing in the streets by joyous citizens are already in the works as the United States, backed by the UN, saves the day once again!

<rolls eyes> Why do I get the feeling those who were gung ho for the Libya thing will be gung ho for this one.

Can we mind our own damn business for once and take care of our ever growing problems here.

4. while the cops in new york city was destroying the park...
the syrian government murdered 75 people.

sort of puts things into perspective. god only knows how many syrians will die before the movement dies or the syrian dictator is removed

5. Coordinated condemnation and sanctions against Syrian government officials are good.
AFAIK, there are no calls within Syria for foreign military intervention. And Russia and China have consistently blocked any UN action (even public condemnation of the deaths of thousands of peaceful protesters). Without UN authorization of a military intervention, it isn't going to happen, as was the case with Libya.

6. It has been repeatedly stated (maybe you missed it)
that Libya was a unique case.

Syria is different - with trained military defecting, they can probably do it themselves with some help in the form of sanctions.

I consistently voice my objections to broad-brushing, something the right like to do - if one liberal does something then all liberal are guilty of the same crime. I thought those on the left were a little more discerning.
