"It was certainly a moving event, but seeing him sob and gasp for air was sort of off-putting,"
John Boehner Bawls Through Congressional Award Ceremony

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/16/boehner-crying-congressional-award-ceremony_n_1098254.html

Boehner was one of several Hill leaders who gave remarks at an event honoring astronauts John Glenn, Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin with the Congressional Gold Medal. The ceremony marked the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing on the moon.

"Neil Armstrong was once asked: Why did you, this one man, choose to speak for all when you set foot on the lunar surface? As it turns out, there was no script, there were no notes," Boehner said. "When the moment came, Neil's thoughts turned to the 400,000 people who worked on the project.... He said he knew 'it would be a big something for all those folks and a lot of others who weren't even involved in the project.' So it was."

And then, as Boehner lined up to present Armstrong with his medal in front of the crowd, the weeping began.

An attendee at the ceremony said Boehner's strong emotional reaction was startling. "It was certainly a moving event, but seeing him sob and gasp for air was sort of off-putting," said this attendee.

26. No, the running joke was..
that in a presidential assassination, the Presidential Detail was to take a bullet to protect GHB, but the Vice-Presidential Detail was in place to deliver one (to Quayle to ensure that he never survived Daddy Bush and become Pres).

9. Looking at him sob and gasp for air is also off-putting
He probably thinks he should be getting the medals. Self pity. The betraying sign of a sociopath who does evil to everyone else.

12. great pics,
Boner "I wear my emotions on my sleeve," the guy is in desperate need for a drink. When he is in one of those slobbering moods, it is because he is either detoxing or drunk.

Anyone who has dealt with an alcoholic or knows something about the disease understands this.

Only in america would someone who needs to go away for a very long time, would hold the 3rd highest office in the land.

She would have been ridiculed and considered unfit for office.

18. If I sob and cried at my job as often I'd probably be asked to see a mental health professional.
my co-wokers and boss would see me as unstable.

I'm not sure how a member of public office isn't held up to the same kind of scrutiny

And I don't think this is a double standard because he is male and I am female. I think any man in my office who was sobbing or crying often would be even more under an even more intense amount of scrutiny.
