House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi doesn’t much like being called “Princess Nancy” by GOP presidential hopeful Herman Cain.
“I’m too old to be a princess,” Pelosi, who is 71, told POLITICO in an interview — the first time she’s responded to Cain’s “princess” comment from last week at a GOP debate.
“Is there an inference to be drawn that there was some divine right to my becoming a leader of the Democrats? Is there some inference to be drawn that it wasn’t because of hard work and strength and strategic thinking about power? I don’t know what the inference to be drawn is.”
Pelosi added: “But you know what? I’m more concerned about what his policies are and what that says about his addressing the concerns of the American people. I was more concerned when he said for people out of work, it’s their own fault.”
