Hilarious letter to the New York Times
In response to an op-ed on Romney:

Suppose the problem is to determine 2 + 3. The realists like Paul Krugman or Elizabeth Warren argue from facts and logic and say the answer is 5. The conservatives like Michelle Bachman and Gov. Perry say it is 23. They argue that is seems logical to them and why spend the money to introduce this new figure "5" when you don't need it. Anyway, the uncle of a friend of their cousin, told them 23 is the right answer.

Obama would start the debate by suggesting we compromise on the average, 14. Then we would argue for a year or so and settle on 18 or 19.

Romney would say that while he had been a supporter of 5 in the past, on careful reflection of the pain and suffering this would inflict, he has come around to the belief that 23 is better, but if you think 32 is the right answer, he could probably support that.

Hats off to Len Charlap of Princeton, NJ!

5. Haha! Except Obama would start at 23
and say he'll approve that for 2 years if the Repubs agree to revisit it with an open mind. Then he would chastise and lecture the people who said the answer is 5, and tell them to stop whining.

7. Oh, no, not at all.
He would simply reverse the digits and offer 32, hoping to compromise on 90 or something.

And the answer to 3 + 2 can be found in Jonathan Swift's "A Modest Proposal."

11. When six would be a victory for Republicans, but they have the power to demand 14...
...Congressional Democrats aren't going to talk them down to five.

Fucking Obama, putting all those Republicans in Congress. :argh:
