ANOTHER foot found in BC (makes 9 so far)
Another foot washes ashore in B.C., but with a difference
By SCOTT SUNDE, SEATTLEPI.COM STAFF
Published 10:12 p.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2011

We are at nine and counting.

A ninth foot has washed ashore in southwestern British Columbia. The nine have been found in the last four years. But this recent discovery comes with a twist.

This one was found over the weekend along Sasamat Lake in Port Moody.

A young person at a camp saw a hiking boot off shore on Friday, then noticed the next day that it had washed up.

2. Are we sure it's not the same foot?
Maybe they keep throwing it back and it keeps washing up again.

3. Good grief!
That's so gruesome. I feel sorry for the poor people who lost their foot, obviously, but I also feel sorry for the people who found it washed up.

That's just awful. Haven't most of them belonged to different people? I know at least two were a pair.

Independent models run by NOAA and University of Hawaii researchers agree on the general direction and drift rate of debris generated by the tsunami in Japan. Right now, models tell us some debris could pass near or wash ashore in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands as early as this (2011/2012) winter (based on reported sightings of debris by the Russian ship STS Pallada (September 2011)), approach the West Coast of the United States in 2013, and circle back to Hawaii (main Hawaiian Islands) in 2014 to 2016.
