Am I the only one who didn't see the Emergency Broadcast test?
I turned on the TV specifically to see it, left it on CNN, but nothing ever showed up.

3. Do you get CNN via broadcast or cable?
This test was for broadcast TV and radio, as I understand it.

4. DirecTV played Lady Gaga's Paparazzi for a minute or so...
Then there was a banner at the top of the screen indicating there was an emergency in DC.

20. That is weird. It came on while Michael Smirconish (?) ,(I
think that's his name),was talking. I was surprised when it came back on that it wasn't mentioned that they just went off the air.

27. I do recall seeing him talk ... I wonder if it was just so short, and so quiet ...
I just didn't notice.

I was working from home on my laptop ... and the TV is on, about 15 feet away, the sound is on and easy ot hear, but the TV is not right in front of me. It is slightly behind me, to the right. So while I can hear it, to see it, I have to turn to my right just a little.

I wonder if it happened, but was so quiet, that I just didn't notice.

I'd expected some audio element to it ... lots of blind folks listen to TV. And any emergency broadcast would usually include an audio element.

Did it make any noise??

8. I'm at work. No TV, no radio.
The University's air raid siren did not sound, which it does 4 times each year as part of campuswide emergency response testing. Guess I'm just fucked in the event of a real emergency. Then again this is in a building in which we were left to sit for 3 hours during a *real* gas leak.

12. I have cable. I saw it.
Black screen came on saying it was the Big Test. The NY1 came on.

I was disappointed that there weren't any sirens or anything.

I was at the library. If there was a broadcast test, it was done in a hushed voice.
