Wealth gap between young and old in the US is the highest ever.

This spells real trouble.

1. What the older generation does not realize is how much we need these younger people

4. This old person knows.
And I'm sure I'm not alone. We've got a generation of youth went to college just like their well-intentioned parents (my generation) told them to do, only to find themselves with a pile of debt and no job. This does not bode well at all for the future.

7. And the report knows how to lie with numbers.
Yes, much of older America has been pulled out of the worst of poverty by basic programs deserved by all; but most of the wealth does not go to older people in general, rather to the rich, who also tend to live longer and accumulate more over their longer lives.

9. What the H..l are you saying? This 65 year old knows how much we need young people.
First this story is there to drive a wedge between us. Then you can say without guilt that we should take away medicare and social security.

That wealth they are talking about is net worth not cash. You can't take your home equity to the grocery store and get some food.

Also retied people are not able to work and young people are. Older people are living off their net worth. Young people can live off their salary if they have a job.

BUT! the biggest thing you should think about is who are you going to move in with when you can't earn a living? Who is going to leave you a bundle in their will?

Older people have kids and grand kids that they care very much about!

This whole story worked because you fell for it hook line and sinker!

2. TBTB want the wedge anywhere but where it belongs.
Race, education, age, sex preference. All are preferable to the real issue. Haves vs have-nots.

3. Elisabeth Warren talked about this in the two income trap
families today are better educated yet work longer hours with less benefits and less pay than there parents generation which only required one wage earner to raise a family and didn't require a college education. It's tough for gen X, for Millenials even worse as they can barely afford a start.

6. Please be careful this piece is pretty misleading and polarizing. I will follow up
once I get more facts and figures from the progressive mill.
