Hey, just a pre-emptive "Hope you're all doing well!" after the earthquake.
I haven't felt an earthquake out here in Eugene in quite some time but I've always found it unnerving. I moved out here from New Orleans, so I was already used to the concept of people trying to steady themselves by holding onto doorframes...but for entirely different reasons.

Be safe!

1. Very thoughtful of you -- and you're right that even when
we become somewhat used to them, they are still unnerving. The first one is really really scary and disorienting, so I'm sure your kindness is much appreciated.

And I add my best wishes to PB's!

2. I still feel bad about some of the crap people on the...
...East Coast received from us out west when there was the rumbler in August. It's never a pleasant thing, especially if you have children or elderly or anyone else who depends on you. It can magnify the anxiety in all sorts of not-obvious-to-outsiders kinds of ways. It's my hope to kind of set a better tone than last time.

3. Me, too. I think too many of us forget what it was like that first time,
plus we always knew we were in earthquake country. Can you imagine if you (rightly) assumed that your area didn't get earthquakes that could be felt? It must have been surreal with their brains trying to make sense of what was going on.

You're doing a wonderful thing, PB. :pals:
