I do not think Rick Perry was drunk, I think he was stoned

when he made that speech last week. I do not like the man, I think he is disgusting and an idiot but watching that video, I must admit that if he had been a regular guy just trying to be funny or I knew he had just taken a few puffs, I would have thought he was quite funny. I hate to say this, but he was almost likeable if you did not know what a scum bag he really was.

1. He desperately wants to be liked by everyone; even more so than most politicians.
2. He is a tongue-tied clod.

thus, he speaks off-the-cuff, trying to come off as a folksy yet knowing good ole boy, but winding up looking like a confused schmendrick in desperate need of attention.
