A witness to Cain's sexual harassment episode says woman's story will destroy his campaign.
Oklahoma political consultant Chris Wilson says if the woman behind the reported sexual harassment complaint against GOP Presidential hopeful Herman Cain is allowed to speak publicly, it'll be the end of Cain's run for the White House.

Interviewed today on KTOK's Mullins in the Morning, Wilson, of Wilson-Perkins-Allen Opinion Research headquartered in Washington, D.C. explained he was a witness to the incident. "I was the pollster at the National Restaurant Association when Herman Cain was head of it and I was around a couple of times when this happened and anyone who was involved with the NRA at the time, knew that this was gonna come up."

Wilson described the woman as a low level staffer who was maybe two years out of college. "This occurred at a restaurant in Crystal City (Virginia) and everybody was aware of it," he continued. "It was only a matter of time because so many people were aware of what took place, so many people were aware of her situation, the fact she left---everybody knew with the campaign that this would eventually come up."

1. Bring it on!
I find Cain's "bring me the accuser" attitude disgusting. Who the fuck does he think he is?

5. Cain is toast
Part of me wishes they would have held off until he was nominated, though I don't think would have won the nomination anyway.

6. In the end, he'd probably rather have this as his undoing...
than the story that this "episode" is concealing. Campaign finance issues would bring the real roaches out of the dark and we couldn't have that now, could we?

bound by any "settlement" legal language, why not say what he saw?

14. I really doubt it.
Just playing devil's advocate on this is easy: it will still be a 'he said/she said' or 'I was misconstrued' type of response to hide the effects.

Not saying the harassment did not occur, just that there will always be enough nuggets of doubt for people to believe what they want to believe.

And I find it hard to believe that other people were actual witnesses. Were THEY paid off, too? If not, then why aren't they talking?

There is enough room for true believers to continue to believe.

(And I really, truly doubt the National Restaurant Association will release that woman from her confidentiality agreement.)

24. Far too early in the season for any one candidate to have a lock..
"There is enough room for true believers to continue to believe..."

Far too early in the season for any one candidate to have a lock immune from the damage this story potentially has... regardless of "true believers"

Once the story comes out in its entirety, today's true believers will most likely become tomorrow's trendy skeptics.

27. witness was precluded from talking due to a signed confidentiality agreement...
What legal reasons would keep a witness quiet?

Last night, PBS ran a story on this and mentioned that the witness was precluded from talking due to a signed confidentiality agreement (I would assume it was part and parcel of the payout). However, the lawyer of the witness believes that Cain's own discussion of the matter vis-a-vis the media resulted in Cain voiding the agreement in that (as was implied, but never stated) he was a signatory to the confidentiality agreement also-- bound by the same rules.

Nor to the most-men-who-don't-get-that-they're-sexists. Nor the women doing that, either. All the "why wasn't she woman enough to deal with it" crap will come out (heard that from a woman just this morning).

Just as with bullying, and as it used to be with racism, anyone raised to think this was understandable behavior will just ignore it.

and yet chose to run for the rethuglican nomination? Does he not know that somehow this will all come out? Or was he just joking around hoping that he would never be taken serious enough for someone to care about revealing this crap.
