A Republican sees the light. Very good commentary.
Another moderate Republican leaves the party.

I am angry that these white-collar criminals are not in jail. As a matter of fact, I am angry that they haven't been charged with treason. These people put our country in peril in order to make ungodly profits. Now they sit on billions of dollars and refuse to expend any of it to help create jobs. They seem to worry about what the government might do with their tax money while thumbing their noses at the rest of us.

I am angry at the people who told us that dropping the tax rates on the wealthiest Americans would be good for the economy. The whole idea of a tax reduction for the wealthy was to create jobs.

That was 10 years ago. We know where the money is, but where are the jobs?

1. he states his frustrations well.
And makes a strong parallel to the 60s the persistence of protesters and the gains made as a result.

Its a good read.

3. It sounds like he's opted and will do nothing to change things.
By becoming an independent he is saying he will do nothing to cahnge things. An independent has no say in whos runs in any party. He should eitherv work to cahnge the his party (probably impossible or become a Democrat and work to change that party. His characteriztion of the Democrats as believers in absolute power of government is ridiculous. At least he is no longer a mindless follower of the GOP lies.

17. Independents
But independents have no voice in who the candidates are. That is an important voice to lose. Independents have no excuse to complain about candidates. Being an independent is taking the easy way out.

7. He did something very good for them by giving Republicans
permission to defy their party. He was a popular conservative voice in this paper.

13. He did use the "T" word. I think more should be using words
like "Sabotage", and "Treason" when referring to the current GOP's actions.

Cliff Schecter on Thom Hartmann: "Are The Republicans Committing Treason?" Dated July, 2012 and probably even more relevant today!

9. But where will he turn?
Many Repubs voted for O in 2008 because they thought he would clean this up. He hasn't. Others thought he would stop torture and rendition. He hasn't. Others wanted the war budget cut. Still others thought he would protect Medicare & SS. He put cuts on the table. And so on. Wasted opportunity.

20. Basically, he's mad at himself for being a sucker.
Perhaps he should have thought through his actions before voting in 2000 and 2004. Late to the party but I guess we'd take him, if he would come over.

any help for Romney and will funnel their money into Congress and state races.
