Molson slumps in 3Q as economy saps beer money

Molson Coors 3Q profit tumbles 23 pct as high costs, high unemployment put squeeze on brewers

-snip-

Molson Coors Brewing Co. and other major beer makers have struggled with weak sales as consumers cope with the down economy. It has hit these brewers hardest as its core consumer -- young men -- face particularly high levels of unemployment.

The Denver-based company is also struggling with higher costs for fuel, packaging and ingredients.

is it going to happen here next?

Double digit growth each of the past two or three years.

New stores opening while other types are closing.

Brew your own. I've been doing it for years.

6. I still drink beer. I just drink MUCH cheaper beer
I'm down to drinking Trader Joe's "Name Tag" Lager.

Or as we refer to it, .50 cent beer.
