Bernie Sanders Congratulates The American People For Defeating Bank Of America

After Bank of America announced that they have dropped their planned $5 debit card fee, Sen. Bernie Sanders congratulated the American people on their victory.

Originally, Bank of America had planned to charge customers a $5 fee in any month they used their debit card. Since debit card usage has become a nearly universal and daily occurrence to most Americans, The B of A fee amounted to a $5 monthly charge for using your debit card. Sustained consumer outrage let to 300,000 people signing a petition, and 21,000 pledging to close the B of A checking accounts. The customer pressure worked, as Bank of America reversed course and dumped the planned fee.

1. They should all still close their accounts
This was hardly the most onerous thing BofA has done.

4. Big deal. It's one infinitesimal step. Now it's time to tax the rich and send pricks to jail.

8. It isn't...
However, this small success should serve as a reminder that people can in fact change things.

11. It isn't, not even close, but up to now, list the number of
times people were even listened to. Our own Reps don't even bother to respond, or tell us to 'get lost' that our ideas are 'retarded'. So each new small step demonstrating that what we had all along but never used because we were not united until now, the power of the people, is worthy of note.

Which only goes to show how few victories we've had up to now.

Two more victories can be recorded for this week also. Cleveland and Nashville ruled in favor of the people's right to peaceably assemble and that there is no curfew on that Constitutional right.

So, after years of being ignored, small victories hopefully leading to some major victories as the movement builds as it is, each day, are definitely a good sign that the 'people, united, can never be defeated'.

9. Yup.
Reports of BoA's death have been greatly exaggerated.

With apologies to Mr Twain.

its dead...

Withdraw your accounts and keep passing the word.

Let them keep alive on their funny money generated on the real assets they once held. Do not blink. They will just sneak this fee in later, they wouldn't be running back to back ads on streaming TV unless they were fucking scared.

Hold Fast: the rank and file will find work in the newly expanding credit unions, let the 1% fail.
