Herman Cain waived confidentiality: accuser's lawyer

WASHINGTON - Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain went on the offensive today against allegations that he sexually harrassed two women more than a decade ago.

CBS News correspondent Jan Crawford reports his supporters rallied to his defense, even arguing the revelations were calculated attacks motivated by race. Americans for Herman Cain the super PAC backing his campaign, said in an email to supporters "this is what the Left always does. Just like they did to Clarence Thomas, they are engaging in a 'high tech lynching' by smearing Herman Cain's reputation and character."

2. Cain getting slimed by his Republicon opponents?
Edited on Tue Nov-01-11 05:59 PM by SpiralHawk
If Cain is innocent as he claims, he should name the lowdown Republicon skunks who are slandering him.

Freaking Republicon Family Values - don't get any lower...

3. What makes them think it is Dems doing this? I know I would personally LOVE LOVE LOVE
to see him as their nominee. Obama would trounce him in every way.

Now republicans might doing this, terrified that he is catching on. Or, maybe he really is just a pig.

6. If it was the Dem's they would have waited until he won in the primaries
THEN they would have waited until a couple of months before the elections 2012 to break out the story!

They have nothing to gain breaking the story at this time!

In fact, with the "rallying around Cain the victim" that is going on, I even wonder if HIS campaign didn't bring out the story. . .because they knew it would come out at "some time," and they wanted to not only "choose the time," but also make his opponents look bad for "maybe" have denounced him, AND make him look "good" as the "poor, abused" guy!

7. when he attacked them by calling the allegations "false", he's forcing them to defend themselves
he started it by calling the accusations baseless.

I figure Cain'll be toast before the next debate in a week or two

Kathleen Willey, Gennifer Flowers, Paula Jones and Juanita Broderick before she comes out in public.

Women who accuse powerful men can expect to have every bit of their past brought up and examined very closely and in a highly partisan way.

On edit I should add Monica Lewinski to the list. She got pretty rough handling too and she tried to stay quiet.

24. If you're old enough, you remember
the Clinton people going after Monica too. You remember them calling her delusional and a stalker and her story was completely in her own misguided young head.

Then all the sudden the dress was produced and the Clinton people changed their story.

If there was no dress, the story would still be that Monica made the whole thing up and is just lying about the whole thing.

So five different women accused Clinton of sexual misconduct. The Clinton people said they were all lying.

Then one produced evidence.

So you're willing to believe that she was telling the truth but the other four were all lying.

As I said, you have a very forgiving nature. It's an admirable quality.

again---let me point this out to you.

In order to go after Clinton---you used 3 proven liars to do it.

Your post was disingenuous.

27. Just Like They Thought Alan Keyes Would Do...
...when they replaced a Senatorial candidate with his own sex scandal with Keyes to run against Obama for the Senate in '04. As we can see there's no Senator Keyes...nor did he draw flies yet black votes. As a black friend recently said, "the blacks who support Cain are the blacks who would have fought for the Confederacy cause they liked the nice living accomodations..."

19. Cain is waiving the accusers confidentiality agreement???
Ah, no, silly me, I misread the posts's title.

Bennett, the woman's lawyer, would like it waived.

Until the confidentiality agreement is waived, I will take it that Cain did it. Just like so many in power, Cain apparently is a power monger with no regard for others.

What is Cain being accused of?

My prediction is that the National Restaurant Association will release it's investigation and we can see what the accusation was. Then we can all find out what's going on.

22. According to Cain, he said to a lady, 'you're the same height as my wife.'
Oh, I'm sure we can just take Cain's word for it. :sarcasm:

It might very well be totally minor, but the fact that he would make up such a ridiculous explanation of the event, demonstrates he is a scoundrel.
