The center right Dems here are always saying that Obama should ignore progressives to attract independents, but when it comes to Occupy Wall St, it looks like independents agree with the dirty fucking hippies, professional left, and the base of the Democratic Party (who are not right wing Democrats).

Will the Obama administration and Democrats in Congress, especially the Senate, act accordingly?

Or will they look for excuses to agree with the Republicans (or more specifically, their corporate masters) even when their positions are deeply unpopular with the vast majority of Americans?

Not only does it pull the Democratic Party to the right, but it creates the illusion that there is a vast reservoir of "moderate" solutions that the two parties could agree on.

Meanwhile, everyone who has become fed up with both parties from a progressive perspective is effectively disenfranchised.
