DALLAS -- Lauro Garza, head of Somos Republicans, the largest organization of Latino conservatives in Texas, has quit the Republican Party because of what he described as the anti-Latino rhetoric of GOP leaders.

"There is no place for Latinos in the Republican Party", Garza, who had identified as a Republican for 30 years, said in Spanish. snip

The Republican Party leadership has been ceding to the influence of the Tea Party, which has fundamentally altered the GOP, and has allowed messages of hate and intolerance against Latinos, Garza said.

"They don't want Latinos in the party or in the country. They don't want immigrants or the undocumented,” Garza, a retired police officer and detective, said of the party. “They think that step by step, they can make {Latinos} disappear like in Arizona, Georgia and now in Alabama."

It truly stuns me how anyone could gravitate to the republi-CON party. Anyone. Including Latinos. I mean, what does republi-CON thought or policy have to offer anyone except those small stingey types looking to justify their own selfishness? It's those looking for that new religion that lets you not have to be obligated to your fellow man, to help those less fortunate, to share. The only-child belief system, maybe.

Perhaps the spoiled brat belief system. Every time I see or hear any assemblage of teabaggers, whether it's a single one of them as a talking head or groups of them with their funny hats and poorly-spelled protest signs, all I REALLY see is that many spoiled snot-nosed three-year-olds screaming and kicking and thrashing on the floor of the cereal aisle at Ralph's - throwing a temper tantrum because Mommy won't buy them at least three boxes of Count Chocula. That's all I see. My first thought is - sheesh, who brought you up? I mean, WHO THE HELL brought up an arrogant snot-nose like eric cantor? WHO THE HELL brought up a selfish pissant like grover norquist? What kind of values were discussed and espoused around their kitchen tables??!?!?!? My mother-in-law used to say "they don't suck it outta their thumbs!"
