Poll question: Should pictures of the animals from Zanesville OH be posted on DU?
I have two sources on this but I wanted to check.
They aren't up close but there are a lot of dead animals lying around.

1. Honestly, and this is my opinion as a person and not a moderator, I don't want to see them.
As a moderator, if they're alerted on, they may possibly fall under the "graphic" violation. The mods who are currently online will have to review them and decide as a group if they are a violation or not. I'd have to see them to know for sure... and I don't want to see them. I bet they are so sad.

4. What purpose would it serve?
Will it discourage buyers of black marked exotic animals to stop? I see no purpose. I have seen dead animals before and don't need this. Especially due to the selfish, stupidity of the owner.

6. Not to argue
but it serves to show the result of the selfish, stupidity of the owner. and the tragedy of it.

7. No argument here but you can't educate people that don't want to be educated.

15. You can educate people
who need to ask the Ohio legislature to outlaw the keeping of exotic animals.

9. Only if you include pictures of the millions of dead cattle we eat every day.
Why don't these other animals that we regularly kill every single day get the same respect.

16. Maybe it the millions of dead cattle were shown on TV,
we may just convince meat-eaters where their steaks are coming from.

10. Moderator response to this
We generally allow graphic images if there is a very clear warning in the subject line so that members can avoid opening the thread or can hide it.

However, we have some moderators that do not wish to see these images, but may be forced to if the thread is alerted. So you may end up getting a lock or removal if there are a lot of alerts.

You may be on safer ground to post links, but we will leave that up to you.

13. THE ANSWER IS NO - from the poll
I very much appreciate your opinion on this and adding that to the poll results I don't think that they should be posted.

Thank you again Mods.

17. We're happy to weigh in on something like this prior to posting.
Again, I'll just take this opportunity to say "thanks" on behalf of the Mods.

And, let me take this opportunity for a little PSA. We always want a Graphic Warning in the thread title. And, if members run it past us, we may save everyone the time of alerts and action if we know it will be a violation. And, if we think it's fine but may generate a ton of alerts, then we'll have you make a note that we said this was ok to post. It really just makes it easier for us.

Thanks Underpants! :hi:
