Will the Master of Darkness that rules NY ban coats in the park too?
What a bastard he is.

1. Good idea, but they're not going to be available for a while, and
then in low quantities. I'm not sure this is going to be something that the current protesters are going to be able to take advantage of. It's still a good idea.

2. They're wering a similar coat in seattle and had something like
50-75 donated by the manufacturing company and others.

I don't have the details but perhaps someone in occupyNYC could ask occupyseattle where they got them, and who is donating. IIRC, there is a discounted rate for those donating them to occupy movements.

4. What a great idea. Those types of coats could be used for other
reasons than homelessness also. The protesters could certainly use them. I was also thinking of winter survival kits in severe winter areas. One of the items in this type of kit is a blanket - this would be an excellent choice.

7. I suggested that a week ago--a home-made version.
Put a hole in the bottom and armholes at the sides, walk around looking like a gumby.

9. Better yet ... try this...
Insulates from the cold and softens the blows from out-of-control cops. Plus, who's going to want to look like a fool stuffing one of these in to a paddy wagon.
